Artist's Description

A rustic stone building stands under a vast sky filled with scattered clouds, with a silo visible in the background. The barren, gravelly foreground and mountainous landscape contribute to a sense of isolation and timelessness. I captured this image on a Friday, however, it did not appear that anyone was around. It appears that the building is used for something, but I was not able to determine what it is used for. I found this old building in Galleos, New Mexico. Like many other structures in New Mexico, this one looks like it is decaying or has been neglected. Hopefully, it will continue to be used. I like to imagine what old buildings like this one are used for, but I never came up with anything other than a storage or warehouse building. This black-and-white image is best printed on paper.

I began my photographic journey in 1972 with a 35mm SLR camera. I learned quickly that I could control the way an image looked and make it look much better than most amateur photographers. Over the following decades, my interest in photography grew as I pursued a career in the high tech industry. Over the years I was encouraged by many friends to turn my "hobby" into a profession. It wasn't until 2002 that I took action and began my professional photography career on a part time basis. From 2002 through 2014 I learned and grew a LOT!
