Artist's Description
A vibrant evergreen tree stands in the foreground, surrounded by dense forest and with a mountain range visible in the background. Clear skies enhance the overall lush and serene landscape. Look closely and find the cross at the foot of the evergreen tree. That tree could become a Christmas tree. However, someone has placed a cross at the base of the tree to create a memory. There were no other markers to tell why the cross was there. It's an untold story that took my mind on a trip of wonder. Was someone married there, was there a death there, was there a major accident, was the tree planted in memory of someone? I'll probably never know. But it did exercise my mind as I dreamed up "could have been" reasons for the cross. Each time I look at this image I will wonder what the memory was for someone to place the cross at the base of that tree.
This scene is on the side of one of the Red River, New Mexico mountains. Perhaps this image reminds you of something or someone who deserves...

I began my photographic journey in 1972 with a 35mm SLR camera. I learned quickly that I could control the way an image looked and make it look much better than most amateur photographers. Over the following decades, my interest in photography grew as I pursued a career in the high tech industry. Over the years I was encouraged by many friends to turn my "hobby" into a profession. It wasn't until 2002 that I took action and began my professional photography career on a part time basis. From 2002 through 2014 I learned and grew a LOT!
