An abandoned, dilapidated building stands in an open field under a clear blue sky. The roof is partially missing, with visible structural damage and overgrown vegetation surrounding it. These types of old abandoned buildings attract my interest. Always wondered how they started and how they got to the point of decay and neglect. This building is very large and I imagine it once was a proud barn for a farmer or rancher. This image was captured in the eastern part of New Mexico while I drove on back roads.
I began my photographic journey in 1972 with a 35mm SLR camera. I learned quickly that I could control the way an image looked and make it look much better than most amateur photographers. Over the following decades, my interest in photography grew as I pursued a career in the high tech industry. Over the years I was encouraged by many friends to turn my "hobby" into a profession. It wasn't until 2002 that I took action and began my professional photography career on a part time basis. From 2002 through 2014 I learned and grew a LOT!
