This image was taken in the courtyard of St. Anthony's Catholic Chruch in Questa, New Mexico. The old church has a definite holly feeling, including the courtyard where there were statues, flowers, benches, and overall a warm welcoming environment. It was just over a year ago that I first saw a hollyhock in person and it was growing in a garden in New Mexico. It was a unique look to me, and I was happy to have seen this one and captured it.
If you are a flower lover or if this flower looks great to you, it prints quite nicely on metal.
I began my photographic journey in 1972 with a 35mm SLR camera. I learned quickly that I could control the way an image looked and make it look much better than most amateur photographers. Over the following decades, my interest in photography grew as I pursued a career in the high tech industry. Over the years I was encouraged by many friends to turn my "hobby" into a profession. It wasn't until 2002 that I took action and began my professional photography career on a part time basis. From 2002 through 2014 I learned and grew a LOT!
