Artist's Description
A close-up view of a vibrant purple hollyhock flower with delicate petals and a yellow center, taken in natural light. The background is blurred, making the flower the primary focus. This image was taken in the courtyard of St. Anthony's Catholic Chruch in Questa, New Mexico. The old church has a definite holly feeling, including the courtyard where there were statues, flowers, benches, and overall a warm welcoming environment. It was just over a year ago that I first saw a hollyhock in person and it was growing in a garden in New Mexico. It was a unique look to me, and I was happy to have seen this one and captured it.
If you are a flower lover or if this flower looks great to you, it prints quite nicely on metal.

I began my photographic journey in 1972 with a 35mm SLR camera. I learned quickly that I could control the way an image looked and make it look much better than most amateur photographers. Over the following decades, my interest in photography grew as I pursued a career in the high tech industry. Over the years I was encouraged by many friends to turn my "hobby" into a profession. It wasn't until 2002 that I took action and began my professional photography career on a part time basis. From 2002 through 2014 I learned and grew a LOT!
