A deep canyon with rugged cliff edges cuts through the arid landscape, while a narrow river snakes through the bottom. The sky above is filled with fluffy clouds, set against a backdrop of distant mountains. This is one view of the Rio Grande Gorge near Taos, New Mexico. Many thousands of years passed while the Rio Grande carved the canyon that is over 600 feet deep. For me, it was a spiritual moment knowing how nature carved this gorge and admiring the rugged canyon walls.
I began my photographic journey in 1972 with a 35mm SLR camera. I learned quickly that I could control the way an image looked and make it look much better than most amateur photographers. Over the following decades, my interest in photography grew as I pursued a career in the high tech industry. Over the years I was encouraged by many friends to turn my "hobby" into a profession. It wasn't until 2002 that I took action and began my professional photography career on a part time basis. From 2002 through 2014 I learned and grew a LOT!
