Artist's Description

As I drive backroads, I often see a variety of wildflowers. Spring in Texas is an ideal time for wildflowers most people think about. However, Texas has wildflowers all year long; just a lot that most people don't think about. One of the wildflowers I see fairly often is the dandelion. While most people think of it as a problem weed, I look at its beauty. A close-up of a dandelion seed head showcases its delicate, white, feather-like structures against a lush green background. The intricate details of the seeds are clearly visible, highlighting the plant's natural beauty. This "weed" has beauty, if only people will look. This image displays well on any of the media offered.

I began my photographic journey in 1972 with a 35mm SLR camera. I learned quickly that I could control the way an image looked and make it look much better than most amateur photographers. Over the following decades, my interest in photography grew as I pursued a career in the high tech industry. Over the years I was encouraged by many friends to turn my "hobby" into a profession. It wasn't until 2002 that I took action and began my professional photography career on a part time basis. From 2002 through 2014 I learned and grew a LOT!
